Description
Main Purpose:
The Transportation Assistant provides administrative support to the Transportation Manager and facilitates the efficient operation of the transportation department. This position reports directly to the Transportation Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Plan transportation logistics for crew mobes, training, and urgent, time-sensitive deliveries
- Assist Transportation Manager with any assigned tasks
- Assist in transportation services occasionally, including but not limited to driving the company van to pick up personnel, equipment, etc.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel to help with tracking logistics
- Take calls after normal working hours
- Work late if needed to complete assigned task
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Must be able to lift and/or move 15 pounds at times
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years of oil and gas industry experience in logistics, warehouse logistics, or transportation logistics
- Must be local to Broussard, LA
- Provide and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass motor vehicle records (MVR) check
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Problem-solving skills
- Willing to take calls after normal working hours
- Willing to work late if needed to complete assigned task
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must be able to pass background check
Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:
- Chauffeur license
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Office Assistant experience

- Office equipment
Environmental Conditions:
Most of the work is done in an office environment.
