The Electrical Products Group was recently purchased from Avail Infrastructure Solutions by nVent Electric plc ("nVent") and consists of three business units, Enclosure Systems, Switchgear Systems and Bus Systems. As a part of nVent, the Electrical Products Group is a leading provider of infrastructure solutions, designed to help ensure safe and reliable electrical operations primarily in the infrastructure vertical, including power utilities and data centers.

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required. 2 to 4 years of

experience, preferably in the Electro-Mechanical Field as a Field

Service Technician, or an equivalent combination of education and

experience.

  • SKILLS: Strong reading, writing, and communication skills. Good

mathematical skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;

advanced Excel skills preferred.

  • CUSTOMER FOCUS: Ability to work autonomously and within a team in

a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Self-motivated with

attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting. Willingness to travel

50-75% of the time, including occasional extended stays.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Conduct a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical

tests on systems, sub-assemblies, and parts to ensure functionality or

diagnose issues.

  • Perform service tasks at various off-site locations as directed by

management.

  • Read and interpret work orders, test manuals, specifications,

wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedures and

equipment to be used.

  • Prepare reports including daily findings, analysis, and solutions;

complete travel, time sheets, and expense reports efficiently.

  • Troubleshoot issues using instrumentation, documentation, and

knowledge to identify and correct problems.

  • Connect units to test equipment, such as motor generators,

multimeters, or current injectors, and monitor performance.

  • Analyze test results to determine causes of failure and implement

solutions, including replacing defective wiring and components.

  • Collaborate with engineering technicians, production staff, and

others to resolve testing issues.

  • Assist with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
  • Travel to customer sites for startups, troubleshooting, or training

on switchgear operations and equipment.
