We're currently recruiting for a TV/Video Director & Editor. Clark/Vancouver Television (CVTV) is an award-winning government access cable channel that has been producing programming for Vancouver and Clark County since 1983.
This is a part-time position involving the production of government and public affairs television. Due to the nature of government meetings, schedules will vary with a minimum of 20 hours per week and include evenings and occasional weekends.

Job Details
Essential Functions:
- Direct single and multi-camera productions including community events and live government meetings
- Set up and/or operate a variety of special equipment related to television production including studio and field cameras, switchers, audio systems, graphics, teleprompter and other portable production equipment
- Work with outside clients to determine the best coverage plan when directing community events
- Identify and work to resolve audio, lighting and other various video production issues during recording
- Prepare on-air graphics and production reports
- Edit, index, and publish meeting videos for the website archive
- Create and edit short promotional videos, public service announcements and graphics for cable and social media
- Supervise the work of temporary crew members during meeting/event coverage
- Train temporary staff
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Experience and Education
- One (1) year of professional work experience in television or film production, preferably directing multi-camera productions. Videography and editing experience also preferred.
- Equivalent to a HS Diploma/GED
- Minimum one (1) year of college level course work in the technical aspects of production such as broadcasting or film. Associate degree in film, video, broadcast communications or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Computer Skills- Intermediate skills in production software including non-linear editing systems and Microsoft Office
Required Licenses and/or Certifications- Possession of a valid driver's license
Knowledge
- Practical knowledge of the operation of camera, audio and lighting equipment
- Strong understanding of television production procedures and techniques, including lighting, audio and post-production
- Multi-camera television production environment focused on live events is preferred
- Non-linear editing systems (Avid or Premiere)
- Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment
- Use of personal computers and basic software

- Work a flexible schedule including evenings and occasional weekends
- Demonstrate strong time management and self-discipline by consistently maintaining a 20-hour per week schedule
- Work independently with limited direction in an efficient and productive manner
- Possess strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Safely and effectively operate equipment used in television production
- Lift and carry heavy equipment
- Operate a personal computer and appropriate software
- Work in a manner consistent with the City of Vancouver's Operating Principles
- Work and act as a team player in all interactions with other City employees, outside organizations and elected officials
- Provide a high level of customer service at all times
- Project and maintain a positive image with those contacted in the course of work
- Develop and maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships with team members and others

Ensures supervised employee review of the City Core Accident Prevention Plan, relevant safety policies and procedures, and training on illness and injury response and specific job-related safety concerns. Reports and appropriately escalates all safety issues and all injuries.
