We’re seeking a creative UI/UX Designer who can translate customer feedback into intuitive, accessible interfaces and collaborate closely with developers in a DoD environment. Position Type: Full-Time

Essential Functions:
- Customer research & iteration — Communicate with customers and end users to gather feedback (interviews, walkthroughs, surveys), synthesize insights, and iterate on design concepts to improve usability and clarity.
- Design production & demos — Create low/high-fidelity wireframes and visual mockups; prepare and deliver demo-ready design walk-throughs to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Front‑end implementation — Convert approved designs into clean, maintainable CSS/SCSS within the application; partner with developers to align styling, components, and accessibility standards across HTML, JavaScript, and React.
- Issue hygiene — Review and update Git/GitLab issues to ensure clarity, accurate status, labels, acceptance criteria, and links to design artifacts and documentation.
- Team ceremonies — Attend project and team meetings (standups, planning, reviews, retros) and contribute to delivery commitments.
- Technical collaboration — Participate in developer discussions (architecture, components, theming, design tokens), provide UI/UX input, and help document decisions.
Requirements
Required:
- Professional UI/UX design experience building web application interfaces.
- Experience demonstrating user-centered design process (research → ideation → iteration → validation) and shipped product work.
- Proficiency in Figma and modern front-end implementation (CSS/SCSS, component-based UI in React).
- Experience demoing design work, gathering feedback, and translating it into action.
- Working knowledge of Git/GitLab workflows (issues, merge requests, code review, CI basics).
- Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to customers and cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Experience in regulated or mission-critical environments (government, defense, healthcare, finance).
- Designing and implementing design systems (tokens, components, theming) in React.
- Comfort with light JavaScript to wire up interactive prototypes and validate UI behavior.
