Job Description
Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a leading regional health system in Winchester, VA.
This position offers the opportunity to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in a high-quality, patient-centered environment. The technologist will work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare professionals across departments to ensure accurate imaging and optimal patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to departmental and accreditation protocols.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately while ensuring their safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Analyze and evaluate images for accuracy and quality prior to submission to the radiologist.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare team members to interpret and communicate results.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation within the hospital’s information systems.
- Participate in continuing education and departmental quality improvement activities.
Requirements
Education
- Completion of an accredited Sonography Program required.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of clinical ultrasound experience preferred.
Licensure/Certifications
- ARDMS certification in at least one specialty required.
- Additional RDMS certifications in ACR-accredited specialties preferred.
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology related to sonographic imaging.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining ultrasound and imaging equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
