Vice President, Corporate Accounting

About the role

Crunchyroll, the world's leading destination for anime and Japanese entertainment, is looking for a strategic and execution-focused Vice President of Corporate Accounting to lead our global corporate general accounting and U.S. based financial operations.

This newly defined leadership role role designed for a hands-on leader who excels at the intersection of financial excellence, operational scale, and global growth.

As VP, you'll shape our accounting organization during an important period of transformation-driving rigor, compliance, and strategic partnership across all corporate functions.

We are looking for a leader who not only brings deep technical expertise but also a people-first approach, someone who values transparency and empowers teams.

What You'll Own

• Corporate Accounting Leadership: Direct all core accounting responsibilities including GL (NetSuite), accruals, intercompany, and fixed assets. Ensure timely, accurate close processes under IFRS and internal reporting standards.
• Financial Controls & Compliance: Oversee SOX compliance and internal control design, working closely with internal and external auditors.
• Technical Expertise: Serve as the go-to resource for complex accounting issues, policy development, and IFRS/GAAP interpretation.
• Audit, Tax & Treasury: Manage annual audits and support U.S. tax, treasury, and statutory accounting tasks in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
• Team Leadership: Build and mentor corporate accounting team; set KPIs, establish accountability, and foster professional growth.

At Crunchyroll we follow a hybrid schedule with three days a week in the office. As the VP Corporate Accounting you will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer. We are considering candidates in both our LA and San Fransisco offices. Relocation assistance available for the right candidate

Who We're Looking For

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years at the VP/Controller level
• Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, SOX, IFRS, and financial close operations
• Experience working across multinational and U.S.-based financial operations
• A CPA (required); Big 4 foundation and/or public company background
• Experience working in NetSuite or other enterprise financial systems
• Experience building and scaling teams
• Industry experience in media, entertainment, streaming, CPG or tech
