Virtualization/Network Engineer – Top Secret Security Clearance | Charleston, SCCambridge International Systems, Inc.Join a dynamic global team united by shared values: commitment, integrity, and perseverance. At Cambridge, you’ll work alongside top talent worldwide, tackling some of today’s most complex and critical challenges in defense and security.We are currently seeking a Virtualization/Network Engineer to support operations in Charleston, SC. This is a full-time, CONUS/OCONUS position requiring an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance. What You’ll DoAs a Virtualization/Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) Expeditionary Enterprise Systems and Services (E2S2) Division. NIWC Atlantic provides design, acquisition, and sustainment services for Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) Information Technology (IT) systems. You will:
- Installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, and local system design documentation
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and implementing network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services
- Windows Server OS Basics: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and/or Server
- Basic Networking: IP addresses, DNS, and how network issues affect virtual desktops
- Troubleshooting skills: use log files, event history, and version control to trace issues
- Equipment installation including superb cable management
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems
- Technical Expertise:
- Three (3) years of professional experience in systems administration to include supporting daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web servers.
- Certifications:
- Must have the latest Cybersecurity workforce certification/training in accordance with DoD 8570.1M and subsequent DoD 8140 manual, as applicable. (i.e. CompTIA A+ CE, Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CISSP, and GSEC)
- Must have a current and active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies
- Available to Travel up to 60 days per year / several week-long trips
- Must have an active passport to support OCONUS travel and/or living requirements.
- Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.
- Primarily an office-based role in Charleston, SC.
- Standard desk/computer work with flexibility for walking and movement on site
- Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
- Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
- May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
