Job Description
Do you enjoy designing and using visual media to convey messages, ideas, and information effectively? Does blending creativity with strategic thinking to support visual communications for military medical research make you excited?
Ripple Effect is looking for a Visual Communications Specialist with at least 4 years of professional experience to support our client’s mission. This role will work closely with the Army's Medical Research and Development Command (MRDC) Strategic Communications Division to plan, film, and edit videos used for a variety of purposes, including information dissemination, marketing, and training in support of the Public Affairs Office in order to meet high-visibility, quick-turn requests.

Responsibilities
- Work with DHA R&D-MRDC’s Strategic Communications team to generate topic centric videos to be used in various formats (i.e. PowerPoint Briefs, YouTube videos, Trade Shows, Website, etc.) that highlight the various initiatives within the command.
- Capture high-quality, compelling photographs at specific official events. Edit photos and deliver files in a timely manner.
- Maintain the ability to take well-composed photos while covering events. Conduct basic photo editing and select best possible photos to accompany articles and social media posts. Capture high-quality headshots for Senior Leaders & Command team as required.
- Capture high-quality, compelling videos. Edit videos and deliver files in a timely manner.
- Capture video interviews with Subject Matter Experts as needed, as well as additional “B-roll” footage from visits, events, and scenarios.
- Regularly propose new content ideas working with contractor and Government teammates to highlight the command’s research initiatives.
- Maintain an internal catalog of video content which can be utilized in a variety of products.
- Maintain and populate Social Media sites with militarily relevant content after close coordination with the DHA R&D-MRDC’s Strategic Communications team as needed.
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree with
- 4+ years of relevant professional experience
Basic Requirements
- Project coordination experience involving planning and ideation, implementation, and rapid turn-around for deliverables
- Advanced experience with high-quality video capture, editing, and production
- Advanced experience with photography capture and editing
- Experience with Social Media site maintenance and content creation
- Prior visual communications experience with the federal government
- Must be willing and able to report to client site (Frederick, MD) on a daily basis
