Real Chemistry is looking for a VP, Head of Global Design to join our growing team!

We are looking for a visionary VP, Head of Design to lead the visual and experiential design direction of our business development and marketing efforts. This role sits at the intersection of branding, storytelling, creative strategy and pitch execution, playing a critical role in how we show up and win in competitive healthcare opportunities.

The VP, Head of Design will be responsible for the design leadership of all new business and marketing deliverables - from RFP responses and pitch presentations to immersive experiences and branded materials - ensuring our agency is always presented as bold, modern and strategically differentiated.

This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices-including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco-or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the visual identity and creative expression of the agency's new business efforts.
  • Translate strategy and messaging into compelling visual narratives that enhance the impact of pitches and proposals
  • Conceptualize, design, and deliver exceptional visual identities and creative assets that effectively communicate brand stories.
  • Utilize cutting-edge design techniques and emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance creative workflows and elevate design standards.
  • Lead the creation and development of powerful branding initiatives, engaging digital designs, and visually impactful presentations.
  • Mentor, inspire, and nurture a collaborative and innovative design team, fostering creative excellence and professional growth.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, strategy, and business development teams to ensure all design outputs align seamlessly with business objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Guide the aesthetic and storytelling flow of presentations, ensuring clarity, sophistication and alignment with brand voice and client expectations.
  • Manage the end-to-end creative design process, ensuring high-quality outcomes from concept through final execution.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, new technologies and tools, and design best practices, applying insights to continually refine and improve creative outcomes.
  • Act as a creative partner and problem solver across fast paced, high-stakes projects.

What you should have:

  • 10+ years of proven leadership experience as a senior-level design professional within media, advertising, or marketing sectors and a track record in supporting new business activities.
  • Strong conceptual, strategic, and innovative design thinking, with a record of delivering outstanding visual solutions across various media platforms.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects), PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, and Canva.
  • A robust portfolio showcasing exceptional branding, visual identity design, digital assets, and experiential design projects.
  • Deep understanding of visual storytelling, design principles, and agency dynamics as part of a business process.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, capable of articulating compelling design concepts and inspiring high-performing creative teams and bringing together winning pitch teams.
  • Passionate about pushing visual design boundaries to create memorable and impactful brand communications.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience working in a leadership role at agencies with life science exposure.

Pay Range: $225,000 - $315,000

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.  Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us. For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients. We are also actively opening new office locations, so if one opens near you, our Real HART policy will apply. We are not looking for attendance for the sake of attendance but believe that the opportunity to coordinate in-office team meetings, 1:1 meetings with managers, taking advantage of on-site learning, and connecting with client partners is a critical to delivering on our purpose of making healthcare what it should be. Outside of these offices, we have regions, where people work remotely but come together quarterly for collaboration, culture and learning opportunities.
