Job Description

Position Summary

The Inventory Control & Warehouse Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records while supporting daily warehouse operations. This role ensures proper material flow, inventory accuracy, and timely support for production and shipping activities through effective receiving, storage, tracking, and issuing of materials.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP or inventory management system
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts; assist with annual physical inventories
  • Monitor inventory levels and report potential shortages or excess stock
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, tracked, and stored in correct locations
  • Support kitting, sub-assemblies, and work order material control

Warehouse Operations

  • Store materials in designated locations following FIFO and company procedures
  • Pick, stage, and issue materials for production, work orders, and customer shipments
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment (5S)

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss
  • Support audits and inspections as required

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or logistics operations
  • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certification
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Familiarity with work orders, bills of materials (BOMs), and cycle counting
  • Experience with barcode scanners and inventory tracking systems
