Warehouse Forklift Operator

As the Stand Up, Reach Forklift Operator at McLane Global, you will transport pallets from the warehouse dock into warehouse locations as directed by the paperwork assigned while confirming moves with an RF scanner, replenishing pallet locations for picking as needed etc. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment. Cooler and Freezer work as assigned.
• Read, write and communicate in English (to read pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions) 
• Work independently or within a team environment. 
• Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures. 
• Detect warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the startup, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations. 
• Performs functions of pallet Put Away, full Pallet Pick, Replenishment, etc. 
• Performs other warehouse duties as assigned. 

Requirements

• Strong and safe overall forklift skills. 2+ years required with stand-up reach lift experience.
• Exceptional teamwork skills 
• Dependable, self-motivated professional 
• Excellent work ethics and a POSITIVE attitude
• Operate or ability to learn how to operate all warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, picker etc.) 
• Communicate effectively both verbally and written. 
• Perform basic mathematical computations. 

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Required to handle up to 50lbs repetitively
• Required to work for prolonged periods in a variety of temperatures including cooler and freezer areas (Cold gear provided).  
• Repetitive use of hands or body movement 
• Stepping up and down, ascending/descending stairs on forklift. 
• Essential physical requirements, such as lifting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, or typing.  
• Must be able to position arms and hands above head or to full extension.  
• Exposures encountered, such as loud noises, and a variety of equipment operators on the floor.  
• Walk and/or stand consistently for up to 8 + hours.   
• Occasionally an employee may be required to alter their shift, temporarily or permanently, or to work an additional day by coming in on their normally scheduled day off. Original assigned schedules are subject to changes as business needs change.
