Job Description

Responsible for managing the daily operations of the finished goods and raw material warehouses. Responsible for the management and supervision of all Warehouse Department personnel.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for monitoring freight and shipping activities to ensure optimum service, minimum cost and consistent accuracy.
  • Complies with company and OSHA warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse
  • Maintain daily flow of display production / inventory
  • Coordinates inspections of equipment and issues work orders for repairs
  • Track finished goods scheduling, output and daily inventory control.
  • Review daily scheduling, output and BPCS reporting of all raw materials.
  • Purchase manufacturing materials.
  • Monitor assigned inventory levels and administer the plant shop floor control program with Material Handlers
  • Able to prepare an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintains warehouse staffing by recruiting, hiring, and training new employees.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; participating in professional workshops/conferences
  • Work in concert with Purchasing, Scheduling, Maintenance and Tea Division to meet production requirements.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical cycle counts; reconciling with IDF systems
  • Maintain offsite product & material inventory
  • Coordinate daily workflow including customer orders, direct marketing orders and Amazon orders
  • Monitor and enforce R.C. Bigelow Safety and Health policies and procedures.

    • Member of Plant Management Team.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Manages the daily operations and direct supervisor in the Warehouse Department, and indirectly all department personnel.  Responsible for the management, recruitment, coaching, disciplining, rewarding and evaluation of all department personnel.

    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Industrial Management or related field; Three to five years experience in Warehousing, Receiving, Inventory Control, or Materials Management in a manufacturing environment with two years Supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of vendors or employees of organization.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     

     REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
