Oversee and maintain responsibility for the safe and efficient operations of the Shipping Warehouses and SP&T departments.
Essential Functions
- Accurately complete all requested shipments of finished goods orders ou of the warehouses, and to receive and unload all the inbound raw materials (including fiber, chemicals, corrugate, and poly bags) to the manufacturing department docks and storage areas.
- Receive and locate (within the Shipping Warehouse area) all the daily incoming production from the machine rooms through an automated sortation, sealing, utilizing and wrapping processes. The shipping department provides seasonal facility grounds support (snow plowing, mowing, yards care). Shipping removes all mill waste to the facility's waste removal systems.
- Supervise employees and manage the equipment in the Shipping Warehouses and SP&T Departments.
- Control labor cost and department operating costs.
- Direct and implement operational improvements.
- Supervise the facility fleets for all departments (forklift/clamp trucks, and the facility yard/grounds fleet).
Job Qualifications
Required
- Communication skills.
- Computer skills - Microsoft excel, word.
- Experience in a Union environment.
- Experience in a Leadership role.
- BPCS software experience, PI process systems.
Preferred
- BS degree or equivalent Warehouse experience.
- 3 to 5 years of Supervisory experience.
Environment
Employee works in a well-lighted and clean manufacturing environment. Requires moderate sitting (50%), with occasional walking (25%) and standing (25%). Employee will use typical office equipment including but not limited to computer, printer, calculator, copier, fax, and telephone. Requires twisting, stooping/bending, squatting/kneeling, climbing ladders and stairs. Requires occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. Requires reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Visual requirements include near/far acuity, depth perception and color vision. Required safety equipment: hair/beard net, safety glasses and hearing protection. Employee will travel to other Huhtamaki facilities, seminars, etc. by both ground and air.
