Job Description

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Repairs and adjusts conveyor system
  • Installs belts on conveyor system, tightens belts, adjusts tension rolls, aligns rollers and replaces defective parts
  • Responsible for ordering parts from vendors for the conveyor system
  • Work with Chief Mechanic & Fleet Manager and Operations Manager to ensure maintenance is being completed as needed
  • Primary interface to warehouse management vendor
  • Performs maintenance audits on the conveyor system
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and control systems
  • Cleans the conveyor system as needed
  • Assists in moving semi-tractor trailers and small trucks in and out of loading bays
  • Travels to other company locations to perform maintenance as needed
  • Performs metal fabrication and welding as needed
  • May be required to attend company meetings on non-scheduled work days
  • Required to work (regular or overtime) or provide on call support on any day, may include nights, weekends and holidays
  • May be required to flex hours to support all areas of the business
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

WHAT WE VALUE

  • Strong mechanical background
  • Good understanding of conveyor systems, sorters and spirals
  • Must understand lock out tag out procedures
  • Must be qualified to operate a scissor lift
  • Intermediate decision making, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Adhere to all safety procedures/standards within the course of performing job duties
  • Must possess or acquire basic mechanic tools

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Experience of three (3) to five (5) years of mechanic background preferred
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred
  • Valid driver license and satisfactory driving record required
  • Electrical Certification preferred
  • Experience in a distribution and/or sales environment preferred

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

Due to the fast paced, highly physical demands of the position, job candidates will be required to complete a Post Offer Pre-Employment Physical (POPE).  Job candidates must pass all aspects of the POPE to qualify for the position.
