Job Description
Position SummaryBenshaw is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor within our Manufacturing job family to oversee all incoming material, inventory control, and material flow activities supporting production operations. This role ensures materials are received accurately, stored properly, and issued to production in a timely manner to support safe, efficient, and on-time manufacturing.This position provides hands-on supervision of material control and receiving personnel while partnering closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering to maintain material accuracy and flow on the shop floor.Location: 615 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238Hours: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Control & Inventory
- Manage the flow of materials from receiving through production staging and point-of-use.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and traceability in ERP/MRP systems to support manufacturing schedules.
- Coordinate material availability for production orders, kits, and work centers.
- Oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, material consolidation, discrepancy resolution, and continuous improvement projects.
- Support engineered-to-order and make-to-order manufacturing environments.
- Supervise daily receiving operations, including verification of materials against purchase orders and inspection for damage or shortages.
- Ensure materials are labeled, stored, and staged in accordance with manufacturing and quality requirements.
- Coordinate non-conforming material, returns, and discrepancies with Quality and Purchasing.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe material storage and receiving areas.
- Supervise, train, and schedule material control and receiving employees.
- Assign daily work priorities to support production demands and manufacturing schedules.
- Enforce safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing policies.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and coaching of team members.
- Identify opportunities to improve material flow, inventory accuracy, and receiving efficiency.
- Support lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and internal controls.
- Assist with audits, inventory reviews, and manufacturing process improvements.
- Communicate material status, shortages, and constraints to management team.
- Collaborate daily with Production Supervisors, Planners, and Quality teams.
- Prepare reports and metrics related to inventory accuracy, receiving performance, and material availability.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3–5+ years of experience in material control, receiving, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience in a production or shop-floor setting.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory control practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience in electrical, industrial, or engineered-to-order manufacturing.
- Forklift and material handling equipment experience (certification preferred).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and cycle counting.
- Experience supporting production scheduling, kits, and work orders.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and material handling.
- Work performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
