What You Can Expect:
The Inbound Warehouse Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the efficient and accurate processing of in coming goods within the warehouse facility. This position involves supervising a team of warehouse personnel, managing order fulfillment, and ensuring the timely and secure shipment of products to customers or other destinations.
Principle Accountabilities:
Order Fulfillment:
- Supervise and coordinate outbound order picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment in accordance with customer requirements and shipping deadlines.
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to prioritize and fulfill customer orders.
Shipping and Logistics:
- Coordinate outbound shipments with carriers and logistics partners to ensure on-time delivery.
- Verify shipping documentation, including packing lists and shipping labels, to guarantee accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Implement cost-effective shipping methods without compromising delivery timelines.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee the organization and maintenance of outbound product storage areas.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent stockouts and ensure the availability of products for order fulfillment.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and losses.
Personnel Supervision:
- Lead and manage a team of warehouse personnel involved in outbound operations.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to optimize team productivity.
- Schedule and coordinate staff to meet workload demands and shipping deadlines.
Quality Control:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that outgoing products meet quality standards.
- Conduct inspections of outbound shipments to verify order accuracy and condition of products.
- Address any quality issues or discrepancies with appropriate teams.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols in the outbound warehouse area, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Stay informed about and adhere to industry standards and legal requirements related to outbound shipping.
Communication and Coordination:
- Collaborate with other departments, including sales, customer service, and inbound warehouse teams, to streamline processes and address operational challenges.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, freight forwarders, and other external partners.
What You Bring:
Education & Work Experience Requirements / Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in outbound warehouse operations and supervision.
- Strong knowledge of order fulfillment processes and logistics.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in a warehouse setting.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software.
- The position may require occasional lifting and physical activity.
- Flexible work hours may be necessary to accommodate operational needs.
