Job Description Summary & Additional Information

Organization's Summary Statement:This position is responsible for updating and maintaining the content for the website for a department or college. EXAMPLES OF WORK:Maintains website and gathers new content. Coordinates with the IT Team on the development of content related elements. Ensures content across the website is consistent and tailored to the intended audiences. Other duties as assigned.

Preferences:

  • Bachelor's Degree in User Experience or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Web Design, Digital Media Design, or Information Systems/Information Technology

  • Full-stack development: 80% frontend / 20% backend.

  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Drupal 9/10

  • Experienced with accessibility standards and guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA)

  • Familiarity with manual and automated accessibility testing

  • Siteimprove and Google Analytics knowledge

  • Certification/training in web accessibility (DHS Trusted Tester Program, WebAIM Training)

  • Strong attention to detail

  • SEO knowledge and best practices

  • UX/UI design and research experience

  • Familiarity with the Pantheon platform; experience with Patheon Cloud IDE or Code Studio

  • Experience with Drupal 11

  • Agile project management experience

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Effective communicator: able to simplify and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.Experience: One (1) year of professional web content creation or communications experience.Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of web and multimedia.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service.
