Job Description

CareArc is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented RN or Dietitian to join our Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. The ideal candidate will play a key role in planning, developing, and evaluating WIC nutrition services, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and supporting the health and nutritional needs of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, development, and evaluation of the WIC program.

  • Support the orientation and training of WIC nutrition and clerical staff.

  • Contribute to the preparation and assessment of the annual Nutrition Services Plan for Lyon and Coffey counties.

  • Consult with health care providers as appropriate to develop care plans.

  • Serve as a resource for staff, health professionals, community agencies, and the public on WIC nutrition.

  • Assist in monitoring WIC vendors for compliance and provide technical assistance as needed.

  • Provide breastfeeding promotion and support as appropriate.

  • Assign appropriate food packages and issue WIC benefits as required.

  • Conduct dietary assessments and evaluate feeding practices for program participants.

  • Provide nutrition counseling using reflective listening and VENA (Value Enhanced Nutrition Assessment) techniques.

  • Determine and document nutrition risk factors and provide follow up nutrition education.

  • Develop and implement monthly nutrition activities, including high-risk nutrition counseling.

Required Qualifications

  • RN requirement- Bachelor's Degree preferred, associate's degree required, Field of study: Nursing

  • Dietitian requirement- Bachelor's Degree, field of study Food, Nutrition, or other related science. Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
