The Winter Food & Beverage Lead Cook position prepares and cooks a variety of menu items for guests to enjoy while at Bogus Basin during the winter operational season.

How You'll Make a Difference
As a Winter Food & Beverage Lead Cook, you'll prepare and cook menu items while supporting the daily operations of the lodge kitchen. You'll maintain a clean, organized work area, ensure staff levels support safe and efficient service, and help provide a high-quality guest experience in line with Bogus Basin's standards of hospitality and professionalism.
A Day in the Life
You'll start your shift in the kitchen preparing ingredients and cooking menu items. You'll monitor production levels, ensure cleanliness, and assign daily tasks to team members. You may assist staff with questions, solve kitchen-related issues, and make sure the kitchen is fully ready for service at opening and properly closed at the end of the day. Each day offers the opportunity to support your team while ensuring guests enjoy delicious, safe, and timely food service.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations
- Accurately and efficiently prepare and cook menu items.
- Maintain a clean work area and assist with cleaning other areas of the Food and Beverage department.
- Report issues to management regarding production levels, staff, and food/equipment safety.
- Ensure proper staffing levels for efficient and safe service.
- Make sure the kitchen is ready for service at opening and closed correctly at the end of the day.
Team Support & Leadership
- Assign daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning lists and ensure they are followed correctly.
- Assist in training staff, fostering a positive, team-oriented environment.
- Support staff as needed, assisting with questions or issues.
Guest Experience & Safety
- Maintain a professional attitude towards guests and staff.
- Promote safety by following safe practices and reporting any unsafe conditions or situations while on premise.
Requirements
What You Bring
- Cooking and/or restaurant knowledge and experience helpful.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, and balance for long periods.
- Manual dexterity to handle kitchen utensils.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally.
- Ability to lift, move, and/or support up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to work mid-October through mid-May.
- Ability to pass a background check.
