Position Duties

The primary purpose of the Workday Integrations Developer role is to design, develop, and maintain integrations between Workday and other internal or external systems to support enterprise-wide human resources, payroll, financial, and student processes. This position ensures data accuracy, system efficiency, and compliance by leveraging Workday tools and technologies. It involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable solutions. The role also contributes to strategic planning and continuous improvement of integration architecture.

Essential Functions

Design, develop, and implement complex Workday integrations that ensure seamless data flow and functionality across the platform. This includes leveraging Workday Studio for advanced integration scenarios, utilizing Core Connectors to enable automated data exchange, and building custom Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to support unique business requirements. Will also us other tools in support of the Workday Platform and Student Modules.

Maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance integrations between Workday and third-party systems. Monitor integration failures and troubleshoot errors promptly and effectively, communicating issues and solutions to users.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect administrative and academic solutions that enhance both the Workday platform and Workday Student modules, ensuring scalability, data integrity, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards. Conduct thorough testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of integrations to deliver reliable and efficient workflows that meet evolving organizational needs. Use strong business analysis skills to lead technical design sessions and provide architectural guidance for integration solutions. Communicate effectively, expressing ideas clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats.

Participate in Workday's biannual updates, regression testing, and change management activities to ensure integrations remain functional, secure, and compliant. Stay current on Workday releases, product enhancements, and industry best practices to proactively maintain a stable integration environment. Maintain thorough documentation to support knowledge sharing and ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, and security standards.

Collaborate closely with the Associate Director of Workday Operations, the Enterprise Applications and Technology Services team, cross-application governance groups, and other technology leaders to ensure the University's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is fully supported and effectively utilized.

Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Describe Required Experience

Required: - 5-8 years of experience developing and maintaining Workday integrations, including a strong understanding of Workday's integration architecture and security model. - Proficiency in XML, XSLT, REST/SOAP APIs, and data transformation.

Preferred: Experience with both Workday Platform and Workday Student integrations.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of Workday business processes, data structures, reporting and experience migrating integrations between tenants.

Experience with Workday HCM, Finance, Payroll, and Student modules. Understanding of Workday release cycles and impact analysis

Experience with version control, unit testing, and system integration testing Familiarity with Workday Extend, Prism Analytics, and AI capabilities Familiarity with SQL, C,# JavaScript, HTML, and .NET Framework

Ability to manage Workday integration life cycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance

Ability to create technical design specifications, field mappings, and integration documentation

Knowledge of data transformation, ETL processes, and API integrations

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments Familiarity with IT governance, security, and compliance standards

Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy

Ability to support institutional diversity and Jesuit values

Experience in higher education or similar complex organizational environments is a plus
