Job Description

Role Purpose:

As a XD Design Manager, you lead a team of 4-7 XD designers while maintaining hands-on design involvement. You balance people leadership with design strategy, ensuring your team delivers exceptional work while growing their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide design direction and quality oversight for your team's work

Influence product roadmap and business strategy through design insights and user advocacy

Partner with PM and Engineering leads to align on priorities and delivery

Contribute hands-on design work for strategic initiatives (20-40% of time)

Drive XD process improvements and operational excellence within your team

Collaborate with other XD managers on org-wide initiatives and standards

Present team work and strategy to senior stakeholders

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of XD designers through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career planning

Recruit and hire XD talent; build a strong, collaborative team culture

You Own This If You Have:

6+ years of XD design experience with 1-2 years of direct people management

Strong portfolio demonstrating design leadership and strategic thinking

High skill-level with both UX and visual/UI design.

Proven track record of developing talent and building high-performing teams

Experience with agile development processes and cross-functional collaboration

Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills

Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience

Servant leadership philosophy with focus on team member growth

$166,000.00 - $258,000.00 AnnualThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
