Job Description
F. L. Crane & Sons, Inc. an employee-owned specialty contractor with over 75 years of experience covering a wide range of finishing, metal panel systems and custom crating. We are based out of Fulton MS and operate 14 divisions throughout the southeastern part of the US. - Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
- Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
- Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
- Orders and schedules delivery of materials
- Meet contractual conditions of performance
- Review the work progress on daily basis
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging issues.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
- Meet with contractors/subcontractors to ensure effective communication throughout the entire project.
- Analyse, manage and mitigate risks
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or equivalent work experience (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Minimum of 3+ years working in a construction project manager role or equivalent. (required)
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Proven working experience in construction management
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Leadership and human resources management skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
