Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervises all Kewaunee Shipping and Receiving activities and associates through all distribution centers
  • Associate management - Leads, coaches, and develops associates through 1-on1s, performance review and shift start up
  • Manage performance reviews, timecards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains 5S' to ensure workplace organization and safety, including completed 5S and Safety Checklist, on a timely basis. Communicates safety incidents and improvement opportunities as they occur or observed. Creates an environment continually improving and identified as a strategic sales weapon and showroom.
  • Pursues and encourages relentless team problem solving using applicable PDCA, 8D, and A3 Methods. Post problem solving actions in areas of responsibility.
  • Establishes, posts, maintains SQDC performance metrics for Receiving, Inventory Management and Movement.
  • Receives and answers questions from Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, Accounting, Engineering, Distribution and Materials Team in a timely manner.
  • Continually improves inventory accuracy, completeness, and damage-free capability of all customer orders. Must promote methods to reduce warehouse parts damage and parts movement damage to/from manufacturing
  • Ensure inventory is reconciled on a continual basis in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate the movement of raw and finished good products within the warehouse to facilitate product flow, optimize space utilization, and outbound customer order trailer utilization.
  • Manage and supports Cycle Count implementation and daily execution.
  • Ensures that all items are available to ship customer orders 100% complete. Shortages, damages or any accidents or unsafe conditions must be reported immediately.
  • Maintains an effective computer locater system within the warehouse to allow for quick identification and location of all items in the warehouse and within the system.
  • Maintains accurate and complete shipping documentation.
  • Monitors the workload constantly to determine resources needed.
  • Ensures that timely and accurate packing lists are distributed for each customer order.
  • Demonstrates to others efficiency, accuracy and care handling products with lifts to ensure safe and damage-free material handling.
  • Use computer system to stage and ship finished goods.
  • Recommends measures to improve SQDC methods and performance
  • Support and manage assigned organizational or department continuous improvement projects
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Frontline leader for associates in the assigned department. Carries out frontline leader responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work, and completes preliminary performance appraisals. Works with the Supervisor to make recommendations for performance improvements, rewards and discipline; recommends rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS

Position requires "acceptable" motor vehicle record under Kewaunee's Driving Policy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, product print drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles, and extreme heat not related to weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
