Description
The HR Administrator is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records and managing data entry tasks within the HR department. This role involves inputting, updating, and reviewing employee information to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements. They are responsible for performing HR related duties to support the overall division. Reporting to the Sr. HR Manager, this position serves as a day-to-day contact and support for the Division personnel. This is an IN-OFFICE position.
Requirements
- Processes and keys employee data changes in JDE, PeopleDocs, and Workday systems daily and monitors process flow to ensure timely movement of approvals through the system.
- Responds to routine employee and management inquiries and requests concerning compensation, procedures, forms, etc. Refers escalated issues to HR Generalist/Manager.
- Provides general HR administrative support and assists with needs for information from the JD Edwards and Workday systems, employment files, and other information sources.
- Maintains various human resources, employment and benefits related files. Keeps filing accurate and up to date.
- Processes all incoming New Hire paperwork and ensures accuracy and compliance with I-9 and other legal requirements.
- Assists with/ leads HR New hire onboarding/orientation as needed
- Processes employment verifications.
- Processes HR related invoices.
- Administers unemployment claims- coordinates with outside claims management contractor to handle claims appeals in a timely manner. Researches, provides information, and participates in hearings as Company representative as needed.
- Administers random drug screen program. Responsible for all related documentation.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of all sensitive employee data, documents, and other information.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of Martin Marietta employment policies and procedures, forms, etc.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of payroll procedures and administration.
- Perform a wide variety of other administrative duties in support of the HR team and function as needed.
- Support the HR team in various administrative tasks as needed.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Related Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in Human Resources strongly preferred.
- Experience with data entry into HR Systems such as JD Edwards HR, Workday and/or PeopleDocs strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Working knowledge of state and federal legislation relating to employment such as FLSA, ADA, FMLA, DOT, EEO/AAP, unemployment, workers' compensation, I-9's, etc.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks when there are multiple and conflicting demands. Must be able to meet deadlines.
- Must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be HIGHLY SKILLED at MULTI-TASKING
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively, and communicate positively with managers and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Must be a team player and a self-starter. Must be able to work independently.
- Must have a strong Customer Service orientation. Must be a resourceful problem solver.
- Must be able to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended time periods
- Ability to work at least 8-10 hours per day plus overtime as necessary
- Ability to lift up to twenty-five pounds
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat and reach for activities such as filing
- Ability to use a PC and perform data entry activities for extended time periods
- Willingness and ability to travel on an occasional basis
