Job Description

TAMKO is seeking a Contractor Sales Specialist. The Contractor Sales Specialist calls on contractors, builders, architects, HOA's, etc., in promotion of TAMKO products in the Dallas, TX area.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from ad inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, card deck leads, aged leads, bingos, dealer resellers, business directories, web sites and other sources.
  • Make outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services.
  • Handle inbound sales lead calls and convert calls into sales.
  • Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Emphasize salable features, quote prices/credit terms and prepare sales orders for orders obtained.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate customer training.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions.
  • Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into database.
  • Work with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Help Territory Managers with displays.
  • Travel to and attend trade shows.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and internet software.
  • Able to read, write, and speak Spanish proficiently
  • Valid driver's license.

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods; must be able to operate a computer and other forms of office technology; must be able to effectively communicate. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
