Job Description:
Mount Holyoke College is seeing a dedicated and knowledgeable Diving Coach to assist the Head Coach in managing all aspects of our Division III varsity diving program. This part-time role is integral to the success and development of our student-athletes, both in and out of the pool. This position runs for most of the academic year and includes evening and weekend hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead all diving practices, dryland training sessions, and meet-day activities.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards within the diving environment.
Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes (PSAs), coordinating visits and maintaining compliance with all NCAA Division III recruiting regulations.
Provide support for the academic and personal growth of student-athletes.
Assist in logistical coordination for travel, meals, and fundraising activities.
Oversee maintenance and care of diving equipment, including boards, harnesses, and trampolines.
Utilize and manage diving meet software (e.g., e-Dive, DiveMeets).
Coach technique, introduce new dives, and provide detailed performance feedback and analysis.
Assist the Head Coach with duties as needed/assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.
Demonstrated knowledge of College diving.
Valid driver's license.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Commitment to fostering a positive student-athlete experience.
Ability to coach and recruit highly motivated scholar-athletes in a rigorous academic setting.
Culturally competent with experience working in diverse environments.
Self-starter with a passion for the sport and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
Competitive diving and/or previous coaching experience strongly preferred.
Lifeguard training certification.
