Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic thinker to join our team. The Sr. Manager, SD Management and Strategy will support developing the promotion planning framework, strategic quarterly promotion planning, budget allocation based on ROI analysis, as determined by priorities and recommendations set by the executive leadership team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, strategic planning, and market analysis, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies. This role will report to the Director of Investment Strategy & Ops and will cross-collaborate with various teams within SEA, specifically with sales and marketing, business planning and operations, category management, and finance teams.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional teams to build promotion and marketing spend allocation strategies, maximizing ROI and aligning with company and strategic goals
- Create, own, and execute cross-division quarterly business and promotion planning template for each team, with relevant business metrics such as revenue, market share, and key financial KPI's
- Provide bi-weekly collection of bottoms-up SD forecasts by promotion from responsible account teams for both target planning and management planning by account, to align with monthly forecast and closing cycles
- Perform variance analysis during monthly target planning exercise and present insight to executive leadership team in concise manner
- Create and allocate overall SEA SD budget and shift budget among teams to review final version with leadership on monthly basis
- Closely partner with category business operation teams to review, validate model-level SD forecast, provide SD risks and opportunities, and communicate adjustments to account teams
- Communicates process changes for SD management with additional guidance from leadership as needed
- Create weekly program analysis of spend efficiency, using historical data, and identify areas to improvement on promotional investments with actionable recommendations for the executive leadership team
- Provide senior leadership with regular reporting of the SD budget status, spend analysis, and other financial metrics by category, channel, and promotion
- Create and publish monthly SD dashboard reports with forward-looking forecasts by product and channel, providing model-level detail to the fullest extent
- Track and report monthly revenue, SD, and key promotional changes by account
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Accounting or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis or sales program development
- Excellent business analytical skills, financial acumen, and business management
- Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to translate diverse data analysis into financial operation analysis with recommendations and actions to leadership
- Must be a highly motivated individual with a strong ability to aggregate and consolidate from disparate data sources not readily available or stored
- Excellent proficiency in Excel, including ability to automate regular tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive work experience in financial planning and analysis or sales program development
- Strong financial and general accounting knowledge, with FP&A background
- Strong experience in managing and tracking promotional spend and relevant metrics
- Experience in data visualization (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, other) and data storage and management (SQL, Microsoft Access, etc.)
