Job Description
YOUR DAY TO DAY:
Perform routine technical assignments such as constructing, repairing, troubleshooting, maintaining and calibrating electronic and mechanical equipment, tubes, microwave products and electro-mechanical components, devices and systems under direct supervision.
Machine and Equipment may include electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Performs routine electronic, mechanical, and technical assignments such as constructing, repairing, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, and maintaining equipment. Works from schematics, engineering drawings, written and verbal instructions.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all types of equipment.
- Operates related electronic and mechanical equipment necessary to construct, test, evaluate process, repair and maintain specific product or equipment.
- Performs calibration and alignment checks on electronic and mechanical equipment.
- Conducts routine engineering tests and detailed experimental testing and reports data in prescribed format.
- Designs and improvises simple electronic and mechanical tools, fixtures, and equipment as required.
- Develop skill and knowledge in specific equipment.
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
- May be required to work with voltages higher than 10,000 volts
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Attention to detail and ability to problem-solve under pressure.
- Able to work on a team
- Good eye/hand coordination
- Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Able to lift at least 40 lbs
- Climb, stoop, bend, kneel, and reach overhead for extended periods of time.
- Able to use microscope for extended periods of time
- This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a "U.S. Person" as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Education and Experience:
- Typically requires A.A. degree in appropriate technology or equivalent technical training, or the combination of training and related experience of 0-2 years.
- Knowledge of fundamentals in assigned area and ability to use common equipment and instruments
Salary Range: $23-$26 / hour
