SALARY: The position starts at $93,000 annually, with potential for an increase based on experience and qualifications.

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director, Revenue Cycle, the Manager, Revenue Cycle oversees, manages and ensures accurate and compliant lifecycle revenue cycle planning, processing and execution. This work is including but not limited to effective supervision of the billing department, management of third-party billing vendors, and general adherence to FQHC guidelines. The Manager, Revenue Cycle collaborates with various departments to enhance financial performance and streamline operations. Leverages industry knowledge and best practices to promote the mission and vision of Howard Brown Health as well as supports culture enhancement and management efforts.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • In collaboration with the Director, Revenue Cycle, concepts, develops and communicates the departments

short and long-term strategic priorities as well as oversee the execution of established plans.

  • Oversees the revenue cycle process, including patient registration, charge capture, billing, collections, and accounts receivable management, ensuring alignment with vendor processes.
  • Develops and implements revenue cycle policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy, incorporating vendor best practices and FQHC regulations.
  • Analyzes revenue cycle metrics and generate reports for senior management to identify trends and areas for improvement, including vendor performance.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and standards in all aspects of the revenue cycle, including FQHC-specific guidelines and vendor operations.
  • Conduct regular audits of revenue cycle processes and vendor activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with FQHC requirements.
  • Oversees the revenue cycle team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Oversees vendor management including establishing and maintaining relationships with third-party billing vendors.
  • Collaborates with clinical and administrative departments, as well as third-party vendors, to resolve billing issues and improve workflows.
  • Addresses escalated patient billing inquiries and provide timely resolutions, coordinating with third-party vendors as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in Finance, Accounting, Health Administration, or a related discipline required.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in revenue cycle management or a related role required. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (K/S/A)

  • Proficient and functional knowledge of revenue cycle processes, particularly in the context of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), including billing practices and compliance requirements
  • Proficient analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data related to FQHC operations
  • Effective leadership and team management abilities, with experience in guiding teams within a healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including clinical staff and third-party vendors
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve organizational goals, particularly in alignment with FQHC objectives and regulations
  • Proficient and functional knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) and billing software
  • Ability to demonstrate emotional intelligence in all situations
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Strong problem-solving acumen and the ability to engage for supervisory support when appropriate
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of equity, inclusion and diversity concepts, and that they are broader than just race, ethnicity, and gender
  • Ability to work affirmatively with gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) and HIV positive patients
