Job Description
We are looking for another dedicated person to join us. We have an immediate opening for a full time Technical Services Instrumentation Specialist (TSIS) at our headquarters in Santa Maria, CA. The Technical Services Instrumentation Specialist I is responsible for providing skilled scientific and technical assistance (via phone, email, fax, writing/editing of technical literature, etc.) to customers, distributors, Sales personnel and others on instrumentation product lines. Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Communicates effectively through empathic listening and asking directed or clarifying questions in order to deliver a tailored solution for each unique customer or circumstance.Investigates routine customer complaints while exercising current good documentation practices (cGDP) through recording all investigation details and actions in the appropriate database.Understands and ensures compliance to regulatory requirements (FDA and ISO) and customer requirements as they pertain to Hardy Diagnostics.Maintains a high degree of confidentiality in handling company's proprietary information and trade secrets.Maintains technical competency for products and industry standards and acts as the technical expert in team settings.Recommends product or process improvements to Technical Services Supervisor, Manager, or Director, based on customer feedback.
Minimum requirements include a BA/BS or MS degree, preferably in Microbiology or relatedlife science field, OR demonstrated proficiency in microbiology and related subjects through college level course work combined with 3 years related experience. One or more years of experience working in a customer facing department or service related profession is desired. College courses in the life sciences, such as medical microbiology, food/industrial microbiology, chemistry or biochemistry are desirable. Technical writing and editing, as well as basic experience using text editor software or working in HTML, is strongly desired. Computer literacy in word-processing and spreadsheet software is required. Completion of a minimum of 12 hours of documented continuing education annually is desired. Fulfillment of this requirement can be met through Hardy Diagnostics or other professional organization sponsored seminars or educational videos, etc.
