Job Description:

Scope of Position: Functions as a point person / coordinator of services for radiation oncologists and radiation oncology patients. Promotes the smooth transition of patient care from entry into MBPCC system until completion of treatment and though out follow-up process. Assists designated physician(s) in a variety of professional and paraprofessional patient care activities as specified and requested. Responsible for providing specialized care of the radiation oncology patient including patient assessments, education and participation in High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy procedures and other procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordination of patient care services.

  • Specialized nursing care of radiation oncology patients.

  • Phone triage

  • Patient education

  • Daily Duties

  • Brachytherapy procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nursing diploma (LPN) from approved program.

  • Oncology experience preferred

  • LPN, CPR required

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in nursing required

  • Oncology experience preferred.
