EASTERN TITLE DIVISION

Job Description:

OLD REPUBLIC TITLE

In this role, you will:

Examine title searches and create accurate title reports and other search products in a timely fashion, focusing on basic to moderately complex title orders. Promptly answer internal and external questions and resolve moderately complex title issues.

  • This is a hybrid role and can be located near our Pittsburgh, PA or Wayne, PA branch.

Essential Functions to be successful:

  • Examine abstracts and/or title searches, identifying title issues and objections.
  • Determine how apparent title is vested, review accuracy of legal description and what qualifies as an outstanding lien or encumbrance for basic to moderately complex title orders.
  • Prepare and issue title reports or other search products.
  • Ability to manage a pipeline and work queue as assigned.
  • Consistently meet and exceed all production goals as set forth by management.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone, video conferences and in person.
  • Complies with Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and
  • At a minimum, the ability to work your scheduled work hours, Monday through

  • Ability to accept supervision and direction, as well as constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrates courtesy, flexibility, professionalism and is proactive and responsive to supervisor/manager, co-workers and customer needs and expectations.

Must Have:

  • Title examination experience or equivalent title industry experience is required.
  • Abstracting knowledge is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of land records and the ability to obtain and interpret data retrieved from various county websites and land record vendors is required.
  • General Mapping and metes and bounds experience is required.
  • Practical knowledge of Federal, State and local statutes and regulations governing Pennsylvania real estate transactions.
  • Must have ability to review Probates, Divorce and Bankruptcy proceedings in addition to Tax and District Court Suits.
  • Ability to identify problems and provide resolutions to basic to moderately complex title issues.
  • Various title industry software knowledge. We use RamQuest.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Skills that are nice to have:

  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment while successfully performing under extreme time constraints and meets prescribed deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to act independently with sound judgment and take initiative.
  • Written and verbal communications are clear, grammatically correct and business appropriate.
  • Must be a personable, positive, and professional representative of the company.
  • The ability to work with confidential information.
  • The ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday is required.
