Job Description
Summary
Valve Solutions is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to support the Engineering and Quality Teams in designing, developing, and sustaining our existing valve product lines. These valves play a critical role in meeting customer needs and evolving market demands.
Under general supervision, this role will contribute to Field and In-house Failure Analysis and Corrective Action Engineering, conducting detailed root cause investigations and implementing effective corrective actions for Valve Solutions' products. Primary product responsibilities include trunnion-mounted ball valves, with additional involvement in gate, globe, check, and floating ball valves.
The intern will also utilize manufacturing and business systems for cost analysis, inventory management, and purchasing, while assisting in the development of engineering documentation such as drawings, schematic diagrams, and material specifications. Additional responsibilities include conducting problem studies to recommend product upgrades and improvements in both field and lab environments, performing product testing, and successfully completing assigned projects.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct Failure Analysis Reporting and demonstrate competencies in Quality Control (QC) testing to support reporting.
- Analyze data to generate results and conclusions related to valve products and components.
- Play an instrumental role in R&D initiatives through development, testing, and reporting of experiments, trials, and qualifications.
- Assist in design generation and provide consultations with customers as needed.
- Check work for accuracy and completeness.
Skills/Knowledge
- Engineering Summer Intern position is designed for engineering students eager to gain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to customer-facing interactions and problem-solving opportunities is expected.
- Demonstrate experience with Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly Word and Excel.
- familiar with Solid Works or similar engineering design software.
Education
- Enrolled in a college-level Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, etc.)
Experience
- Previous Summer Internship is plus.
