Job Description

$40,495.10 - $52,643.64

The Lamar Lab (https://sites.google.com/site/jlamarlab/) is seeking a research technician to join our highly interactive and collaborative group. This individual will work on the lab's rare cancer research projects including a rare vascular sarcoma epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE), a deadly form of melanoma called acral melanoma, and an aggressive form of thyroid cancer.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or a related field
  • Applicants must be fluent in English
  • Applicants must be passionate about research, motivated, hardworking, organized, and able to work efficiently
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate
  • Must be willing to work with mice
  • Experience in some of the following common cell and molecular biology techniques would be desirable but is not required: mammalian cell culture, qPCR, Western blot, transfection, cloning, and viral gene delivery

Responsibilities:

  • Work with other lab members to help complete research projects
  • Maintenance of lab records
  • General lab management
  • Making of buffers and reagents
  • Routine maintenance of a mouse colony.
  • Help train new lab personnel
