The noise level in the work environment can be loud. In addition to using computerized diagnostic equipment, mechanics use a variety of power and machine tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, grinding machines, and welding equipment. Hand tools, including pliers, socket and ratchets, and screwdrivers, are also commonly used.
