Full-time- 4-day shifts - no weekends!

We are a three-doctor practice that provides primary and urgent care to dogs and cats in the greater southwest Missouri area.

Hometown Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Tech you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Extensive animal handling and client interactions
  • Ability to perform routine veterinary medical procedures (e.g., collect samples, draw blood, and administer injections) and properly restrain patients
  • Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments in the manner prescribed by the veterinarian
  • Perform diagnostic tests and x-rays
  • Leading, assisting, and training the veterinary technician team in daily tasks
  • Fostering a collaborative and positive environment
  • Obtain patient history and provide client education
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Registered Vet Tech preferred or at least two years of recent experience in a veterinary practice with increasing responsibilities.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted without direct supervision
  • Demonstrates the ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion while maintaining a commitment to outstanding client service
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to stay on task and work energetically for entire shift, sometimes exceeding 10 hours per day
  • Collaborates with others to foster a productive, professional, and positive work environment
  • Maintains punctual and reliable attendance
  • Understands and fairly applies policies and practices
  • Works efficiently and independently when needed
  • Be willing to mentor, guide, and support fellow team members
