The Finance Technician in Accounts Receivable is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and analyzing all account receivable functions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Compensation Range:

$26.06-$30.25

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains and reconciles cash drawers for ODCHC clinics, by reconciling the recap sheet, verifying cash and forwards copies to the Billing Department.
  • Prepare Propay and Batch deposits by verifying cash and check amount, copying checks, matching Excel worksheets to the batch total, preparing deposit slips and taking deposit to the bank.
  • Retrieves, sorts, and distributes weekly check written payment information.
  • Delivers and retrieves Billing Department correspondence, including photocopying warrants, ROAs and insurance payments and inputting data for Daily Cash Non-Mcal.
  • Inputs data for daily Workday deposits and attaches corresponding backup.
  • Processes and batches accounts receivable payments for patients and insurance payments including assigning A/R batch number daily and researching check information when requested.
  • Processes weekly patient refunds from the Billing Department.
  • Reconciles monthly credit card statements.
  • Distributes inter-departmental mail to each department and opens and stamps mail received for Finance Department.
  • Sends out W-9 forms when requested.
  • Assist in Accounts Payable duties including coding and entering invoices into Workday, preparing accounts payable checks, reports, and files.
  • Prepares monthly accrual and assists in monthly closings.
  • Adherence to ODCHC's attendance policy.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as designated by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish constructive professional working relationships among a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and independently as needed.
  • Ability to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent, and equitable manner.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively represent ODCHC's interests in the community and maintain effective working relationships among co-workers, public, private, and professional groups.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve problems involving standardized situations.
  • Strong computer skills with specific aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adheres to ODCHC's policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED and two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT: The Finance Technician reports directly to the Senior Accountant. The Finance Technician is an integral member of the Finance team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is largely an office-based position. The physical requirements described are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
