Job Description

Job Summary:

Gritman Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Specialty Care Group as a float nurse, supporting a variety of specialty departments including Urology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, and others. This full-time position offers a dynamic and varied clinical experience, ideal for a skilled RN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across multiple disciplines.

Under the direct supervision of healthcare providers, the RN delivers high-quality, evidence-based care in accordance with the Idaho Board of Nursing, Joint Commission standards, and Gritman Medical Center policies. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, planning, intervention, documentation, and outcome evaluation throughout the patient lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide age-appropriate patient/family education and support

  • Complete clinical intake, documentation, and assist with patient assessments

  • Perform CLIA-waived lab tests, venipuncture, and diagnostic screenings (e.g., EKGs)

  • Assist providers during exams/procedures; may act as a medical scribe

  • Administer adult and pediatric vaccines, following CDC/VFC guidelines

  • Perform medication injections and complete prior authorizations

  • Monitor and manage medical inventory and supplies

  • Provide back-up receptionist support, including scheduling and check-in/out

  • Use electronic systems for incident reporting, inbox management, and patient communication

  • Maintain safety and professionalism in all clinical and administrative areas

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school with at least an Associate Degree

  • Current Idaho RN license and BLS certification

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between clinics

  • Proficient computer and EHR skills

  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and flexibly as the sole clinical staff when needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a medical office or outpatient clinical setting

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced clinical environment requiring multitasking and prioritization
