Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is part of the Automotive Accounting team and will be responsible for recording financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, performing period closing functions in Oracle, preparing reports and supporting schedules and assisting with audits for automotive-related transactions. This person will work with the Accounting Manager to supervise, train and develop staff and maintain proper documentation and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for proper accounting of automotive transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies for Servco Hawaii operations
• Oversee automotive accounting functions and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Ensures proper reserves
• Plans, coordinates and executes inventory counts with Auto Retail and Auto Distribution locations. Timely analyze the resulting adjustments to determine further action needed
• Performs financial review and variance analysis as assigned
• Collaborates with operational teams to manage end-to-end workflow processes to properly record transactions in an accurate and timely manner
• Provide supervision, work review, training, and development to assigned staff
• Completes assigned account reconciliations with discrepancies and outstanding items resolved in an accurate and timely manner
• Create and update process documentation
• Assist in external and internal audits and special project reviews
• Provide support services to stakeholders as required
• Researching errors / irregularities in the accounting process under the Senior Accountant's ownership to fully understand the underlying causes, then identify and recommend potential solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3 years of experience of senior accountant level experience with general ledger accounting, period closing, estimates and reserves calculation, account reconciliation, analysis, and financial reporting
• Diversified and industry experience in retail, manufacturing and automotive and/or work experience with a big-4 national CPA firm preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft systems (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power point, Access)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Oracle Financial Cloud and Dealer Track knowledge preferred
• MBA preferred
