The Poultry Selection Manager is responsible for managing the genetic improvement program with a strong emphasis on optimizing traits that impact live performance, meat yield, feed conversion, and overall flock health. This role ensures that genetic selection strategies align with the company's R&D goals and help deliver broilers that meet performance, processing, and welfare standards across commercial operations.

Job Description:

• Lead the selection and development of broiler breeding stock to improve key production traits including growth rate, feed efficiency, carcass yield, livability, and disease resistance.
• Oversee collection, management, and analysis of on-farm performance data to inform genetic decisions.
• Ensure implement genetic tools to estimate breeding values and guide selection strategies.
• Maintain close communication with live production, hatchery, nutrition, and health teams to ensure genetic goals support downstream performance.
• Provide technical expertise on genetics and breeding to support optimal decision-making across the production pipeline.
• Oversight of new research and development projects.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of data from performance testing, pedigree tracking, and crossbreeding programs.
• Collaborate with other departments (FCR, Vet Services, Production)
• Train and lead selection team staff and ensure adherence to animal welfare and biosecurity protocols.
• Bi-weekly Selection and CT reports

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in poultry genetics or broiler breeding, preferably in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of commercial broiler performance metrics and their genetic drivers.
• Proficiency with in house data analysis tools and Microsoft office
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to align breeding outcomes with operational needs.
• 90% of this role is on the farm and or facility

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (6+ hours).
• Grip, grasp and/or twist using hands and wrists.
• Lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50lbs.
• Bend and stoop periodically throughout shift.

Work Environment:

• Primary work environment is at the grow farm facility.
• Requires standing, walking, and light lifting in agricultural and live bird settings.
• Travel to grow farm facilities is required.
• Some international and or domestic travel might be required if necessary

Other Conditions:

• Candidate must adhere to strict confidentiality rules with regards to data handling.
• For bio-security purposes, candidate cannot own or house any wild or domesticated avian species.
• Candidate must adhere to a strict 72-hour quarantine period after contact with non-Hubbard avian species.
• Candidate agrees to comply with all other company biosecurity, animal welfare, safety, and personal conduct policies.
