Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Travel Assignment)

Location: Tarzana, CA
Schedule: Full Time – 5- 8 hour shift(Travel Assignment)
Pay: $70-$74/hr
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)
Travelers must live 50+ miles from the facility

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials to assess various medical conditions. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic evaluations that aid in patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, along with expertise in nuclear medicine techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nuclear medicine scans, including PET scans, to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians to discuss scan results and assist in the interpretation of imaging data.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to procedures performed.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated and maintained for optimal performance.
  • Educate patients about the procedures, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Stay updated on advancements in nuclear medicine technology and best practices.

Skills

  • Proficient in medical imaging techniques specific to nuclear medicine.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to diagnostic evaluations.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology used in healthcare settings.
  • Ability to perform aseptic techniques while handling radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Experience with diagnostic evaluation processes and protocols.
  • Knowledge of safety standards related to the use of radioactive materials.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.

Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Required)
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) (Required)
  • ACLS (Preferred)
  • ARRT (R) (Preferred)
  • CNMT (Accepted/Preferred)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • SPECT Imaging (Single-Photon Emission CT)
  • PET Scan Procedures
  • Myocardial Perfusion Imaging
  • Pharmacological Stress Testing (including Lexiscan)
  • Cardiac Stress Testing
  • Outpatient Nuclear Medicine Experience

Clinical Experience in the Following Procedures:

  • Bone scans
  • Brain scans
  • Liver scans
  • Renal scans
  • Sestamibi parathyroid scans
  • Myocardial perfusion
  • Drawing venous blood
