Plant Operator

Job Summary:

The Plant Operator will report to the Plant Manager and is responsible for various operating tasks associated with the operation of Li-Cycle's lithium battery recycling plant. Applicant should be capable of completing a variety of manual tasks and have experience working within manufacturing or processing environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Handling of lithium-ion batteries and associated products
• Perform a variety of manual tasks including, loading batteries into plant
• Minor maintenance activities, as required
• Cleaning of plant, ensuring the plant is kept is clean, safe working order
• Inspect and verify condition and weight of incoming/ outgoing materials
• Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliance legislation
• Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience working in similar manufacturing/ processing environment
• Experience with routine maintenance operations
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Able to work well under pressure
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
• Computer literate
• Professional appearance and manners
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Working Conditions:

• 24/7 availability shift rotation may be required
• Available for casual work
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
• Overtime as required
• Exposure to shopfloor and loading hazards
• May be exposed to construction site
