Job Summary
The Common Market is excited to announce an opening for a Farm to Fork Sales Director for the Michigan region. This pivotal role is crucial in promoting and expanding our mission to connect local agricultural producers with food service institutions, schools, and community organizations. As the Farm to Fork Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving sales strategies and initiatives that enhance our reach and impact in the local food system.
In this role, you will be tasked with developing relationships with key institutional partners, including schools and universities, to create sustainable procurement channels for local food. You will lead outreach efforts, engage in sales negotiations, and establish educational programs that highlight the benefits of local sourcing. Your leadership will ensure that The Common Market becomes a preferred provider of local, fresh food across Michigan.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in sales, business development, or partnership management, specifically in the agriculture or food distribution sector
- Deep understanding of local food systems, sustainable agriculture, and farm-to-fork supply chains
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences
- Proven track record of achieving sales goals and driving revenue growth
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture, environmental science, or a related field
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills
- Willingness to travel throughout Michigan to engage with partners and promote our mission
Benefits
- Base Salary: $68,000 annually (paid biweekly).
- Bonus Potential: Up to $20,000 annually for achieving revenue goals (paid quarterly).
