Job Description

Delaware Nation Industries (DNI) is a prime contractor providing manpower and support IT Operations and Maintenance to the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) to ensure every DCAA employee has reliable support and access to the DCAA’s network equipment, email systems, and shared drives and databases to successfully carry out their mission to the Department of Defense. We are currently interviewing for a Network Engineer to support and lead this initiative in an enterprise-level work environment.  

Essential Responsibilities:

·       Designs, builds, and implements network systems.

·       Maintains records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance.

·       Troubleshoots network performance issues.

·       Analyzes network traffic and provides capacity planning solutions.

·       Monitors and responds to complex networking hardware and software problems.

·       Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.

·       Responsible for installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/MAN/WAN systems.

·       Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.

·       Provides assistance and oversight for information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/communications operations, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations.

·       Engaged in the operation and support of network facilities, including all communications equipment on various platforms in large scale.

·       Involved in complex operations that involve two or more additional functions such as, but not limited to, network operations, systems security, systems software support, and production support activities.

·       Monitors and responds to hardware, software, and network problems.

·       Provides the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (including power, software, communications machinery, lines).

·       Utilizes software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance.

·       Patches and maintains network continuously to meet security compliance standards.

Requirements

·       Fifteen (15) years’ experience in Network Engineering at an Enterprise level focusing on Cisco

·       Five (5) years of experience leading a team

·       Five (5) years of experience with Firewalls (preferably Cisco ASA) or load balancing

·       Two (2) years of experience with Nexus switches and NX-OS

·       Experience with creating and maintaining network design drawings in Visio

·       Experience in DOD environment, and with implementing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines

·       Knowledge of 802.1X configuration, including experience with either Cisco ACS or ISE

·       Demonstrated experience working with complex system implementations and organizational processes to include maintaining system documentation.

·       Solid understanding of IP addressing and implementation of DHCP

·       IAT Level III baseline certification in accordance with DoDD 8140.01 “Cyberspace Workforce Management” (or achieve within six months of TOA of hiring)

Preferred but not required:

·       Prior experience with General Dynamics TACLANES and/or other cryptographic equipment

·       Working knowledge of VMWare Infrastructure/vSphere

·       Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

 

Minimum Education Required: 

·       BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related IT discipline.

·       ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION:  An additional four (4) years of experience can be substituted for a BS or BA degree. 

·       Ability to pass a high-level background investigation
