Job Description
HPU is looking for a Video Production & Content Manager with strong creative instincts to work with our Video Team on productions ranging from stylized work, video interviews, run-and-gun style shoots, social/web content, and broadcast commercial work. This role requires strong attention to detail, an understanding of the intricacies within storytelling and an ability to adapt to frequently moving priorities in a fast-paced work environment. As the central Content Manager, they will lead the organization of HPU's photo and video assets. Duties include, but are not limited to, improving and maintaining photo and video content organization through Canto, a Digital Asset Management System.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Required: Bachelor' s Degree in Video Editing or related field of study
Required Qualifications:
- 2-3 years' experience shooting and editing content across a variety of platforms including database management.
- Content Management System Proficiency
Experience and Training
- Experience with digital cinema cameras and editing software, Adobe Suite preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Strong editing skills and general knowledge of color correction/grading and audio mixing.
- Strong organization, time management, and creative skills.
- Strong creative eye and storytelling skills.
- Knowledge of lighting and audio setup.
- Ability to work independently, by finding ways to move projects forward without explicit direction.
- Ability to communicate promptly, professionally, and efficiently both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to create rough and final cuts that are both creative and technically sound.
- Capable of working within deadlines and independently prioritizing tasks appropriately.
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail while also creatively telling a story.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create and edit videos according to department and company expectations, including many with quick deadlines.
- Assists in the setup, lighting, breakdown, and gear management on a video production shoot.
- Research and acquires video elements such as university beauty shots, stock footage, graphics, photos, voice-overs, music, sound.
- Performs intake and organization of various media files to prepare projects for editing. This includes tagging assets and organizing folder structures.
- Audits the existing content for relevance and optimization
- Transfers video files from Raids to network storage
