What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?
As a Lead Collections Utility Technician, you will be inspecting, evaluating and repairing sanitary sewer manholes as well as performing various repairs to manhole structures and pipe repairs. You will be leading a crew of 6 employees and may have two crew at the same time. You will also be welding and fabricating parts and tools, repairing water and sewer mains, assisting with responding to and resolving customer complaints. Lastly, you will assist in locating, and inspecting new lines, and other related duties.
Schedule: Monday- Friday: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Summer hours: Monday- Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Organizing and managing materials to ensure efficient workflow.
- Setting daily, weekly, and monthly tasks for the crew to meet project deadlines.
- Completing necessary paperwork to adhere to compliance guidelines.
- Responding to emergency repairs and customer concerns outside of regular working hours.
- Assisting other departments to address emerging needs and ensure seamless operations.
What will you need to succeed?
- Positive attitude and work ethic.
- High School graduate or equivalent. A mechanical/technical/vocational school background or experience is a plus.
- Missouri Collections License Class D minimum or ability to get in 6 months (or wastewater class D license)
- Class A CDL with Air Brakes.
- NASSCO (National Association of Sewer Service Companies) certification, or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months.
- The ability to perform manual labor. Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Minimum of 3-year relevant experience or combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of wastewater collection systems.
- Knowledge of the operation and preventative maintenance of a variety of equipment.
- Skilled in the use of a variety of hand and power tools.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Word.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and to work in all types of weather.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a DOT background check, DOT pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

$31.50 - $36 an hour
Depending on qualifications and experience.
