Job Description:

The Louisiana State University School of Theatre invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Film and Digital Media Production to begin in Fall 2025. The appointment will be full-time (nine months). The School of Theatre seeks an experienced leader with professional film and TV experience in fields related to producing, directing, and filmmaking to lead a strong, growing BFA film area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in production and post-production, mentor students with individual and class projects, and prepare students for professional careers in the industry.
  • Assist with the administration, development, and management of Film and TV BFA degree program, including oversight and management of film equipment, participating in student recruitment and providing service activities pertaining to the mission of the school and the university.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education Level: MFA
  • Degree Substitute: an MFA or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specific Experience: Experience in cinematography, sound design and/or editing.
