About the team and the role:

eBay, Inc. seeks Manager, Risk Management 1 in San Jose, CA

What you will accomplish:

Job Duties: Conduct financial analysis related to embg (eBay money back guarantee) program and external chargeback losses, including the monthly loss forecast for all partners including executives and regional finance teams. Collaborate with teams in North America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Frites, and Australia. Prepare monthly loss forecasts and annual loss budgets by collaborating with multiple business divisions in expense management and wall street P&L (profit and loss) reporting. Build time series models to forecast claim counts enabling payments customer service team in workforce management. Conduct analytical deep dives to understand key drivers of performance and highlight opportunities directly impacting losses. Develop end to end analytical and financial views on everything related to transactional losses. Partner with trust teams to develop committed insights and provide recommendations to limit losses and improve trust on eBay. Drive accountability with partners by measuring results against plan and help ensure the financial safety of the company. Partner with global payments, protections and risk management team, and the regional finance organizations. Partial telecommuting may be permitted from within a commutable distance.

What you will bring:

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Business Analytics or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Business Analytics or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

  1. Data Analysis: Experience in analyzing large data set to identify trends and patterns using statistical tools, develop and maintain reports to visualize data and track key risk indicators (KRI) (2 years)

  2. SQL: Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation and experience in writing complex queries across data domains to support business decision-making processes and ensure data integrity throughout dependent processes (2 years)

  3. Python, R or SAS: Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for statistical analysis and data modeling (2 years)

  4. Financial Modeling and Analysis: Experience in utilizing financial models to forecast business performance and assess financial risks and experience in applying analytical methodologies and conducting testing to validate model assumptions and outcomes (2 years)

  5. Executive/Leadership Storytelling: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs, create compelling presentations, with a focus on visual storytelling and effective communication of complex data insights (2 years)

Salary: $161,970-163,900 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
