D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Loan Servicing Accountant. The right candidate will provide accounting assistance in the Loan Servicing Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare payments for taxes, hazard insurance, Upfront MI, VA Funding Fees, and monthly MI
- Process borrower payments, adjustments, interest, and escrow collected at closing to the servicing system
- Import loans from the origination system and ensure correct boarding
- Reconcile postings made to the servicing system
- Reconcile and deposit title and borrower checks
- Reconcile and journal loan sales at month end
- Reconcile principal, interest, and escrow netted by investor
- Reconcile the general ledger
- Balance and forward funds
- Work with investors and servicers to ensure that loan transfers are accurate and timely
- Create and reconcile transfer files
- Maintain and produce transfer records, documents and files
- Assist with projects, audits and other functions as needed
- Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to travel overnight
Education and/or Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
Preferred Qualifications
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
- Ability to accurately and efficiently process and record large volumes of data
