Description:

The Assistant Manager for Sterile Reprocessing (SRP) supports the SRP Manager in the strategic planning and management of human and fiscal resources within the Sterile Processing Department. This role ensures departmental operations align with all applicable regulatory standards to provide safe, ethical, and high-quality surgical instrumentation.

The Assistant Manager is directly responsible for the optimal daily functioning of the department, ensuring that all operating room (OR) cases are properly prepared and supported in a timely manner. This includes maintaining exceptional customer service standards and operational efficiency. The Assistant Manager also provides leadership and oversight to the SRP Technician team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. In all aspects of their role, the Assistant Manager consistently demonstrates and promotes Trinity Health's core values in service to colleagues, patients, and the broader healthcare team.

Position responsibilities:

  • Facilitate efficient throughput of OR cases by (1) ensuring the proper instrumentation and supplies are in the case carts, (2) coordinating special equipment needs with the OR charge nurses, and team leaders.
  • Manage the schedule, day-to-day operations, and staffing assignments for the SRP Technician team.
  • Ensure capital, salary, and non-salary expense budgets correlate with patient care needs. Participation in the development, implementation and monitoring of budgets. Participation in the development, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness in such areas as: staffing, supplies, equipment. Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of initiatives to enhance operational revenues and expenses.
  • Enhance employee satisfaction regarding regular and timely communication with staff by holding regularly scheduled staff meetings, being open and responsive to staff issues and complaints, being available for all shifts, giving clear instructions, and utilizing technology to support communication with staff.
  • Assists the SRP Manager with quality and financial improvement projects
  • Develops and maintains onboarding and education programs for SRP Technicians in coordination with the SRP Trainer.
  • Maintain the T-DOC tracking software and UKG.

What's needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, or other health related areas.
  • 3 years of relevant job experience, 6+ years preferred.
  • CPR Certification.

Compensation:

Pay range: $25.71 hr.- $41.14 hr.

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
